Technical Program Manager

Turning technical complexity into deliverable outcomes.

Cloud · AI · DevOps · Engineering · Technical Delivery

I lead complex, cross-functional technology programs, bringing engineering, product and business teams together to turn strategy into execution.

HOW I THINK ABOUT TECHNOLOGY

The interesting part isn't knowing every technical detail. It's understanding how the pieces connect.

I work where engineering, delivery, security, cloud and business meet — helping teams turn ambiguity into something they can actually deliver.

SELECTED EXPERIENCE

What I've learned from leading technology programs.

01

220+ pipelines. One security program.

How do you introduce security scanning across hundreds of CI/CD pipelines without turning delivery into a bottleneck?

What it taught me: Technical programs rarely fail because of one technical problem. Dependencies, ownership, sequencing and communication matter just as much.

02

“Just migrate it to the cloud” isn't a plan.

What changes? What doesn't? Who owns the dependencies? What could break? How do we validate it?

What it taught me: You don't need to design the architecture yourself. But you need to understand enough of it to see the gaps.

03

From monoliths to microservices.

Architecture decisions aren't just engineering decisions. They affect timelines, testing, dependencies, teams and operational complexity.

What it taught me: You don't need to be the architect in the room to ask an architect a really good question.

TECH WITHOUT THE JARGON

Technical concepts for people who lead technology — without needing to build it.

Short, visual explainers for the technical concepts that show up in everyday product and technology conversations.

ABOUT ME

BEYOND THE JOB TITLE

I like understanding complicated things — and making them easier to understand.

My career has moved between software engineering, technical leadership and program management. Today, I work across complex technology programs involving cloud, AI, DevOps, security and software delivery.

Writing is how I make sense of what I learn. It also happens to be one of my favourite ways to make technology less intimidating for the people who have to lead it.

BEYOND TECHNOLOGY

Technology isn't the only thing I make.

There is a quieter, more creative side of the work — books, stories, paintings and The Art Balcao.

KEEP THE CONVERSATION GOING

What's the next technical question we should unpack?

If there's a technical concept you've heard a hundred times but still can't quite explain, send it my way. It might become the next edition of Tech Without the Jargon.
